Electrical-Electronics Engineering
Overview:
Electrical-Electronics Engineering is one of the basic engineering majors. This major was created when people began to use electrical energy in everyday life. Electrical-Electronics Engineering includes three sciences, namely, Electricity, Electron, and Communications.
This major is divided into two groups, the first includes power systems, which are described as strong currents and deal with the generation, transmission, distribution and processing of electrical energy, while the second group includes electronic systems that are described as weak current and deals with the field of electronics, digital communication technologies, ground communications and electronic circuit design.
Electrical-Electronics Engineering aims to prepare and educate engineers who are able to quickly adapt to evolving technology, follow new developments and their applications and develop them, produce and create effective and useful solutions to the problems they face and develop electrical and electronic information and technologies.
The electrical and electronic engineer works in a wide field in the various sectors of electricity, electronics, communications, control, automation, energy, and computer equipment. Based on this, we conclude that graduates of this major will start working in a wide range of fields in the various sectors of electricity, electronics, communications, control, automation, energy and computer equipment.
Students study for four years in Turkish universities, which are considered among the best universities in the world in teaching Electrical-Electronics Engineering, by adopting the best modern technological means in teaching and using the most recent practical laboratories, in which the student graduates with the highest academic levels and practical experience.
Importance of Electrical-Electronics Engineering:
This major is distinguished by its attachment to the basis of human life, because electrical energy has entered all aspects of life and has even become the basis for which it is impossible to live without it in our life.
Electricity depends in the mechanism of its production and distribution on electrical engineers who are always working on creating renewable technologies for the production, distribution, transmission and continuity of electrical energy. Countries and major companies depend in the design and maintenance of transmission and distribution lines of electricity within the same country and the different countries on electrical and electronics engineers.
Electrical and electronics engineers play an effective role in many vital fields such as communications, control, automation, electronics, biomedical and computer production, in addition to the industrial, health, service, and construction fields, so the electrical and electronic engineer has a great position in human societies.
Universities have realized the importance of this major, and have paid great attention to it in all respects through the continuous development of academic programs because of this major impact on people’s lives and to achieve further progress in the energy sector and provide benefit to all people.
Electrical-Electronics Engineering Curriculum:
The curriculum includes a group of diverse scientific courses, which are taught for all engineering majors in the first and second years, then the study tends towards specialization more in the rest of the years. The names of some subjects may change between different universities, and these are some of the subjects taught in the major of Electrical-Electronics Engineering:
- First year: Computer Programming – General Physics – General Chemistry – Calculus – Linear Algebra – Electrical Circuits – Occupational Health and Safety in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
- Second year: Electrical Circuit Theory – Circuits – Computer Circuit Analysis – Differential Equations – Electrical Materials – Electromagnetic Field Theory – Signals and Systems – Programmable Control Units
- Third year: Electrical Distribution Systems – Electrical Machines – Communication Theories – Lighting and Interior Installation – Automated Control – Electronics Lab – Communications Lab – Power Electronics
- Fourth Year: Electrical and Electronic Engineering Design – Science, Technology and Ethics – Radio and TV Systems – Circuit Design – Digital Signal Processing – Microwaves – Graduation Project.
Career Fields:
Electrical and electronics engineers are active in many fields, and many prestigious and effective jobs are available to them in many places and major companies such as:
- Manufacture and Design of Electrical Machines.
- Manufacture of Medical Electrical Machines.
- Construction and Contracting Companies.
- Software Companies and Control System Design.
- Electrical Generating Stations.
Universities have realized early on the importance of electrical and electronic engineering, and have given it great care in all respects to harness great possibilities in teaching and continuous development of study programs; Because this specialization has a great impact on people’s lives and to achieve further progress in the energy sector, and to provide benefits to all human beings.
